Mid-Sized Airlines Partner with FlightView for Better Insight, Less IT Work

FlightView Aggregates Key Data to Deliver Actionable Real-Time Insight to Travelers

03/02/2010

BOSTON, MA (March 2, 2010) - Three premier airlines have joined the 200-plus aviation companies that partner with FlightView to aggregate data feeds to enhance the accuracy and ease of flight tracking, while reducing the workload for airlines' IT departments - and improving operational efficiency.

Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines are just the latest airlines to choose FlightView, the leader in real-time flight information, to aggregate, enhance and deliver a wide range of information to help travelers better manage their travel experience. With FlightView, these companies get the benefit of more robust information that affects travel, without the burden of collecting, analyzing and presenting data.

"We spend a lot of time trying to assemble data to provide customers with the information they really need - whether it's where the flight is, what the weather is like, which gate they are leaving from or where to pick up their bags," said Cliff Van Leuven, Managing Director - Airport Customer Service for Frontier/Midwest Branded Operations. "All we had to do was give FlightView our information, and in less than two weeks, we got a customized, comprehensive feed of information that's useful to our customers, our staff and our airport partners, too."

FlightView's data feeds combine and normalize data including FAA flight data, geographic data, scheduling information, aeronautic intelligence, gate changes, flight status and radar weather, eliminating the need for manual aggregation. For many airlines, this ability to deliver simplified information in standardized format also meets airport requirements for demand from airports like Denver (DEN) and Los Angeles (LAX).

"Airlines can now focus on the business of travel, not the business of aggregating data," said Mike Benjamin, CEO of FlightView. "We'll take care of packaging the flight information and they can focus on what they do best: flying planes and keeping their customers in high spirits."
