After months of industrious effort and many long nights, FlightView is proud to release its newly redesigned website to the general public. Aside from a new clean, simple user interface, the website relaunch sees the premier of new features that are designed to provide helpful information for 'day of travel' planning, including: a revised Flight Tracker, Airport Tracker and Live!.

FlightView.com has been providing accurate, reliable real-time flight status information through its products and its free public website for over 10 years. With a deep understanding of flight disruptions and airport operations, FlightView's projected landing times are second to none. The redesigned www.flightview.com is the first step in pushing this extensive knowledgebase and experience into the public domain. The redesigned Travel Tools portal gives a taste of the new look and functionality.

Lorraine Flynn, President of RLM Software and the FlightView brand, is excited by the new redesign. "We are happy to begin executing on our mission of delivering practical, useful information to the traveling public for better trip planning on the day of travel. We want to help travelers and trackers be at the right place at the right time when they fly."

New or enhanced areas of the website include:

  • Quicker Flight Tracker interface to get to the flight information customers need.
  • Flight results now include the actual operator for code share flights to reduce 'wrong terminal syndrome'.
  • Brand new Airport Tracker with Status and Air Traffic Maps for over 100 airports.

The Flight Tracker was redesigned with the goal of streamlining queries, whether searching by flight number or by city, and presenting more information in a more useful way. With the increasing number of code share flights and marketing alliances, travelers and their trackers often go to the terminal of the airline on the ticket, not the terminal of the airline's partner who is actually flying the airplane. By adding code share information directly to the query results, flightview.com visitors will know exactly where to go and, more importantly, where to park.

The brand new Airport Tracker area gives customers everything they need to assess the situation at their local airports, in real-time. Visitors can get updated color-coded Delay Status for all the major airports in their region and even view arrival traffic patterns. In an all-new way to visualize airport delays, the new Current Status display is available for select airports and shows the status of recently arriving or departing flights. The commercial flights are color-coded by their on-time status and grouped together to give customers a visual sense of the airport's recent performance. Experience the new Airport Tracker at the Travel Tools portal by clicking on any airport name in the map or using the menu to select an airport not displayed on the national map.

With the redesign, FlightView also officially launches its new flight tracking service, Live! for real-time, animated and automated commercial flight tracking. Users simply find their flight of interest, click "go" if it is en route and start tracking the flight continuously in a small mini-window that does not interfere with surfing the Internet or using other applications. Customers simply click over when they want to see the current status since it updates itself every few minutes. A single, same-day DayPass for this service costs under a dollar and lets customers effortlessly track up to 3 flights in a 24-hour period. Live! is currently only available for Windows operating systems.

Many of the new features unveiled are available for airlines, airports and content providers to integrate into their own websites. Contact FlightView directly to learn more.
