Finding a Flight by Departure and Arrival Airports

Follow these steps to track a flight by the departure and arrival airports:

  1. In the "By Route" tab of the Flight Tracker form, enter the departure and arrival airport names or 3-letter codes. As you start to enter each one, a filtered list will appear from which you may select your desired airport. If the flight has multiple legs, the connecting airport must be one of the airports in your search depending on which leg you want to find (see 'Multi-Leg Flights' Link).

  2. Optionally enter the the name or 2-letter code of the airline. As you start to enter it, a filtered list will appear from which you may select your desired airline.

  3. Using the Time drop-down menu, specify the approximate departure or arrival time. Be sure to use local time relative to the specified airport. Flight Tracker will search for flights 2 hours earlier and later than requested. For example, entering a departure time of 8 am will return a list of matching flights departing between 6 am and 10 am.

  4. If there are several flights that match the criteria you selected, they will be displayed in a list. You can view flight information for a specific flight by clicking on its status.

The Flight Tracker will display current flight information. If the flight is in air, it will be displayed on a graphical map. In adherence with FAA regulations the report of a departure is delayed by 5 minutes.
