Finding a Flight by Flight Number

If you know the airline and the flight number, it is simple to track a flight. Follow these steps:

  1. In the "By Flight" tab of the Flight Tracker form, enter the name or 2-letter code of the airline. As you start to enter it, a filtered list will appear from which you may select your desired airline. The two-letter airline code may be found on your itinerary before the flight number. For example, AA100 represents American Airlines flight number 100.

  2. Enter the Flight Number. If the flight you are searching for consists of several segments with separate flight numbers, you must search for each segment separately.

  3. Select the Departure Date from the drop-down menu. You can track flights departing today, yesterday, and tomorrow.

  4. Click Track Flight.

The Flight Tracker will display current flight information. If the flight is in air, it will be displayed on a graphical map. In adherence with FAA regulations the report of a departure is delayed by 5 minutes.
