FlightView's New Flight Notification Product Automatically Alerts Users of Irregular Operations As They Occur

10/17/2006

FlightView Software is excited to announce the release of Flight Notification, a new product that allows any organization that needs to keep track of multiple flights to immediately receive notifications if any changes in flight operations, such as delays, diversions or early arrivals, occur. FlightView Software has utilized Microsoft .NET, a new web services technology that connects people, information and systems to each other, for this product.

Flight Notification is aimed at organizations, concerned with customer service or resource management, that have high flight volumes that need to be tracked, but dont have the time to individually check on each flight. The product involves an exchange of information between FlightView and the customer via Microsoft .NET web services. The customers load up the list of flights they are interested in monitoring in advance, and FlightView outputs their proprietary XML data via an FTP server as changes in these specific flights occur. The customers are then immediately alerted of changes in flight status. Customers can also add or delete flights from their list at any given time.

By automatically pushing changes in flight status to customers, Flight Notification eliminates the need for them to query the system for individual flights, thus, saving them a lot of time and enabling them to streamline their operations. Being alerted immediately if a flight is arriving early, late or being diverted elsewhere, also increases their efficiency giving them time to make alternate ground arrangements. Ultimately, companies using Flight Notification can continue to provide the high level of service that their customers expect from them.

One of FlightViews large international ground transportation companies, with multiple locations and hundreds of flights to track, uses new Flight Notification. Their personnel are currently receiving alerts on arriving flights and are now able to manage their fleet much more efficiently.

Lorraine Flynn, president of FlightView Software, says of the release, "We are excited to have taken the next step in innovating flight status technology with this product. FlightViews Flight Notification Service takes the burden off of aviation companies of alerting their clients or personnel of updated aircraft status, letting them easily handle hundreds of flights at one time. Automatic alerting of irregular flight operations will really set our customers apart from their competitors because it saves them time and effort, allowing them to focus on customer service and improving their efficiency."
