FlightView Releases Newest Visual Displays for Airport Terminals

Airport Customer Service Takes Off As Travelers Look to Real-Time Information for Peace of Mind and Accurate Flight Data

09/22/2008

ACI World/North America Conference & Exhibition -- BOSTON (September 22, 2008) -- The most accurate and actionable airport information displays just got easier to read. FlightViews® immediate release of Displays v1.1 makes terminals a little more civilized with state-of-the-art real-time flight information that passengers can view, understand and act upon as they battle increased costs, delays and inconvenience.

FlightView's Displays v1.1 gives travelers the opportunity to see for themselves where their flights are and what weather conditions or other airport delays may be preventing them from arriving on time. With easy to interpret color schemes and crisper icons, the displays create a visual picture of what's happening in the sky. The new airport displays go beyond the standard flight information displays that list arrivals and departures, providing both informative and entertaining high-resolution maps showing ever changing airport delays and weather conditions across the country.

"More than 200 airports depend on us for trusted information that's easy for their customers to understand and interpret," said Michael Benjamin, CEO of FlightView. "Air travel is a difficult experience for even for the most seasoned traveler and airports understand that information goes a long way to ease the pain of travel."

The upgrade includes three major feature enhancements:

The new Airport Delay Module illustrates airport delays at all major US and Canadian airports for both arrivals and departures. Airports experiencing no delays are highlighted in green; minor delays are labeled in yellow and those with major delays appear in red. The module includes an optional radar weather overlay, allowing customers to quickly recognize when weather is impacting flight schedules.

Improved Visual Components including city and airport labels, airport icons and flight tags have been enhanced for clarity and increased readability. The new treatments reduce visual clutter at highly trafficked airports. Customers can easily identify their individual flight on the air traffic map. Airports have many options for tagging information - and can choose the format that best fits the view they provide, from simple flight numbers for congested airports to codeshare information for midsize and smaller airports.

Enhanced Zooming Capabilities deliver a more engaging look and feel as the images smoothly shift automatically to showcase local, regional and national views.

FlightView Displays v1.1 is available now from FlightView and its partners. Live demonstrations of the product can be seen at the ACI/ World/North America Conference & Exhibition Booth 1225.
